On February 21, 2015 numerous organizations, professional bodies, and people interested in the celebration of mother language and the topic of linguistic diversity joined together at the monument initiated by the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) in assistance with the Bangladesh Heritage and Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA).
The Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) has prepared a publication for International Mother Language Day 2015, the International Mother Language Magazine.
Two Canadian Provinces, the Province of British Columbia and the Province of Manitoba have officially proclaimed February 21st as International Mother Language Day.
In 2014 the Bangladesh Heritage and Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA) introduced the Ekushey Heritage Award as a means of appreciation for people who stand out exceptionally with great achievements in helping the local community in Edmonton and vicinity area. BHESA has now announced the nominees for the Ekushey Heritage Award 2015 as the award recipients are confirmed on International Mother Language Day.
We invite everybody interested in the celebration of mother language and the topic of linguistic diversity to join the program initiated by the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) on February 21, 2015.
As we have announced earlier the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) is preparing two local projects for the Mother Language Initiative, a publication issued by BPCA, and an event program to be held on International Mother Language Day 2015.
BPCA's initiative "A Celebration of Mother Language" has received recognition from The Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada.

The initiative led by BPCA, the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta, is an effort to bring the people of all nations together to celebrate each and everyone's mother language, culture and heritage. International Mother Language Day celebrated on February 21st can be understood as a chance to build peace and understanding between all nations and ethnic groups around the world.

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada extended his best wishes to everyone marking International Mother Language Day in a message addressed to the president of Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA), Delwar Jahid.
Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 The cause of the Celebration of Mother Language and the importance of lingual diversity have found recognition in a recent interview between Delwar Jahid, President of the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) and the Bangladesh Hertitage and Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA), and Emily Burton, historian of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
